The board sample is part of the specification.
An erector opens and forms a shipping case from supplied blanks. Its reliability depends on the interaction between that equipment and the actual corrugated input, including the blank’s scores and condition. A drawing is necessary, but a carefully selected physical sample set makes the specification more useful.
Separate blank feeding and opening from bottom closure and discharge. Inspect the resulting case where the next operation receives it. If a poorly formed box reaches loading or sealing, the later problem can appear to belong to another machine. Record the observed defect and where it first appears.
The erector guide turns carton inputs into a selection and acceptance record. Keep representative lots and identify which combinations of board and case size were demonstrated; do not let one successful sample stand in for an entire range.
| Record | Prepare | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Blank inputs | Style, scores, dimensions, board lot and storage condition | Identifies the material actually demonstrated |
| Formed output | Squareness, flap alignment and bottom closure | Shows whether the case is ready for loading |
